A perfect BLACK car to do for the live class. For me that is why I have only owned one black car eve. Clean great, then everything shows up after that picture.:D

Hi Dan,
I would love to have the help. In fact, I'm going out to the garage right now to clay the paint and then correct the paint before today's LIVE Detailing Class starts.
I'm pretty sure management would be okay with you helping but with the Covid19 Pandemic still an issue - I'm also sure for health safety reasons, they'll choose to keep this an employee-only project.
Thanks for volunteering and I'm looking forward to the day when this Covid19 Pandemic is either behind us or we have a sure-fire remedy.
:)

I understand and I to can’t wait for this COVID-19 to pass where we all can be back to normal

:bump:
Yesterday Yancy and I wiped the C8 Corvette down with a Waterless wash. After this, I took these pictures,
This is the trunk lid panel on the driver's side. See the round rings?

This is a close-up of the same area. This is AFTER washing with a waterless wash. These "rings" or "water spots" are not ON the paint - they are etchings IN the paint.

Here's more on the hood....

Here you can see some light swirls and by the swirls more Imprint Ring Water Spots.

Paint Correction Necessary
Claying will not remove these types of spots.
Vinegar will not remove these types of spots
No "liquid" water spot remover is going to remove these types of spots
The ONLY way to remove these types of spots is to machine polish the paint and LEVEL the surface.

Now follow me....
This is a BRAND NEW CAR. It's been driven here in South Florida for a few weeks. It's been RAINED on. The water spots you see in the paint are called
Imprint Rings
See my article here,
Imprint Rings - A specific type of water spot on car paint by Mike Phillips
Knowing modern clearcoats, (urethane paint), is actually pretty tough or stout, you have to ask yourself,
What's in the water?
And here's my article on this topic,
What's in the water?
I don't know what's in the water but whatever it is - it's corrosive enough to ETCH INTO the brand new urethane paint on a brand new C8 Corvette.
The paint also fails the Baggie Test. So I'm heading out to the garage to clay the paint and then correct the paint for today's Live Detailing Class at 3:00pm Eastern Time.

Quick video I posted to my FB page about claying the paint.
Mike Phillips - Using detailing clay on a 2020 C8 Corvette
I have not done a Test Spot yet, that's next. I would say that the paint on the Vette mars or scratches really easy.
The word mar is the kind, fuzzy warm name for scratch.

Looks just like the black paint on my 2016 Cadillac ATS-V.
The clear GM is using on their black paint is soft and sensitive.

Just goes to show - it's a bad idea to ever make generalizations about paint hardness or paint softness.
I was surprised by how easy the paint on this Corvette scratched. Of course, the upside is how easy it corrects.
