Question about what to use to clean coilovers shocks
Hello,
i got a spare set of shock /coilover , just wondering what would be the best products to clean them up ?
i m assuming APC or wheel& brake cleaner to clean and maybe some spray on wax to protect, that sound about right?
probably have to leave it in the sun to dry a bit to avoid rust too?
i saw on youtube some are using wd40 , wonder if that would be good too
Re: Question about what to use to clean coilovers shocks
APC to clean them up, then spray Boeshield T-9 on the threaded adjusting collars to keep them moving freely in case you want to adjust up in winter or down in summer . Boeshield T-9 is a waxy lubricant unlike WD-40 and won't attract dust and dirt like WD-40. I guess you can apply some synthetic wax product to the shock bodies and springs to keep them looking nice.
