Is there any more info on when they will be back in stock? All this time on my hands is making me miss using my 3401.

Was at work to ceramic wax the wife’s Honda so I walked out into the warehouse and checked for you.
I counted 9 factory 6” backing plates.

Don’t buy them all - I need one too

This after HOURS of punishing the BEAST!
Everything wears out - even you and I.

I consider these a wear item. I always keep a spare in stock. Altho honestly these really hold up rather well considering the stress they go thru on a Beast.
I’m a bit disappointed in how long it lasted. I think it was a combination of deterioration through time and using it. Being a hobbyist I do not use it that often but love it when I do.
I guess I will have to call tomorrow and order one of the ones Mike found. They still show out of stock in the store.

Second - This last Saturday, while waxing our Honda here at Autogeek and after having read this thread, I physically walked out to the warehouse to see if there were any FLEX 3401 backing plates. I counted 8 or 9, don't remember.
I shared this info in this thread above.
Then I get a phone call from one of our Customer Care Staff letting me know that while there may be FLEX backing plates PHYSICALLY in the warehouse- they are all SPOKEN FOR in other PENDING orders.
So "yes" there are some backing plates in the warehouse but the OUT OF STOCK message on the store page for these backing plates is accurate.
Third - in an effort to help our forum member, I took a look at my FLEX 3401 tool inventory, (for our classes here and our roadshow classes), and picked out a tool that looks like I had recently installed a new backing plate. These are wear items.
I've removed it, inspected it and am happy to ship it to you, free of charge to get you and your BEAST back in the game!
Then when new inventory arrives, you are welcome to get another backing plate and keep the one I send you.
All you have to do is send me your shipping address and I'll get it out today.
I also just left you a voice mail with my personal cell.

Very nice gesture, Mike!! :props:
Don’t forget to lube the felt ring while your backing plate is off!
Excellent reminder.
