Surpass coating
Hey guys,
I was contacted by email by a rep from Surpass coatings. He offered to send me a sample of their product, which he claims is a 8 year coating that sells for 90$ per bottle if you buy less than 5 bottles.
After I sent him my mailing info for the sample, he hits me with and invoice of 135$ for the order.
I told him to cancel and let him know my mind about his business practices.
My questions are:
1. Has anyone ever heard from this company?
2. How likelly is it that a company I have never heard about can offer a coating that is more durable than industry leading Optimum Opti-Coat Pro+?
3. What do you think about someone offering samples, but expecting the person he contacts to pay full price for it?
In a follow up email he says he never mentioned free... but in my experience, when a reps contacts you to send you a sample, free is assumed. Maybe I am wrong, I don't know... this seems so fishy to me I want nothing to do with that company.

Re: Surpass coating
It should be free or the price should be scaled if someone is contacting you to offer a sample. Not like it's a pet store where they offer trial sizes of dog food for you to buy before committing to a larger quantity.

Re: Surpass coating
For me, conversation woulda ended at "8 year coating"
Pushy and sensationalist marketing turns me off immediately but I tend to prefer products that are under the radar, so to speak.
If some needs to bloviate on their products as opposed to a simple "Give a try and let us know what you think", I'm walking away...free or not.
