Looking for tips on fabric Convertible top care while rinseless washing
A friend just purchased a 2015 911 Carrera GTS which I’m in the process of detailing and installing the new Gyeon Syncro coating. Upon completion I’m going to teach him how to rinseless wash for easy summer maintenance.
I thoroughly cleaned and protected the fabric convertible top with RaggTopp products, but I’m a little unsure about what would be the best way to keep it clean if your primary wash method is rinseless washing?
Thanks for your tips and suggestions!

Hummm...if cleaned and protected using RaggTopp products, you should be good to go.
Soap/bucket, rinseless and waterless have same purpose, to clean the car. I believe you'll be fine whatever approach you use, the top is now "protected."

The best way to “clean” it and make it look fresh is to vacuum it. You need to use a brush attachment with med. stiff bristles, too soft i.e. horsehair won’t cut it, too stiff and you might fray it.. What you need is an attachment that’s meant for upholstery/dashboard vacuuming.
This 1 is ok. [I have this brush attachment]

This is the 1 I prefer to vacuum my fabric top. It came with the Ridgid Auto Detailing Kit. [it’s the softer of the 2 brushes that come in the kit]

Using a soft/med bristled brush [sort of like a dustpan style] to quikly “sweep” the dirt off of it makes a nice difference too, but not as good as taking the time to use the vacuum.
Other than that, you can spot clean it with waterless wash. Megs Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere works good. But so should just about anything that’s comparable to it for spot cleaning such as bird poop.

I prefer 303 products over Raggtopp for convertible top maintenance. You can actually
“Paint” 303 Fabric Protection onto your top to eliminate any overspray like you get from Raggtopp products. Raggtopp products are good, I just prefer 303 products. I used them for years on my Nissan 370Z fabric tops with excellent results.

:whs: 303 lasts longer too.

Just to chime in....
Hi Al, I know you're asking about how to take care of top when NOT washing and I agree, a combination of vacuuming and a Tornador Blow Out Gun and even a Lint Roller are good options.
But.... for all the people that may find this thread in the future that are going to wash their car's cloth top... I put a lot of time, pictures, work and "technique" into this how-to article...

I agree with Mike... A quik vacuum helps if you’re just doing a quik detail on your paint and want to spruce up your top on the fly...
But nothing gets it looking tip top to its max potential like a full thorough cleaning.[emoji6]

It really makes my car look it’s best when I take the time to clean the fabric top with the dedicated cleaner and the Raggtopp Brush.[emoji41][emoji267]
