Fluctuating weather is driving me crazy!
We've seen some unusually warm temperatures in the last few days, hovering around 0C (32F). It's kind of frustrating to see frost form and melt and leave spots. I park in a metal carport with a tarp on either end that I can roll up.
I thought carports were supposed to prevent frost from forming on your car? Should I leave one end open?

Heat Radiation:
-All objects give-off heat.
Frost:
-Frost is formed when water vapor in
the air condenses on a cold surface,
and then freezes in place.

•When your vehicle is parked under a carport
both of these ‘objects’ can “exchange” heat
radiation. In most cases: This helps keeps
the surfaces warmer; frosting-conditions can
often be avoided.
However:
-Sometimes the radiant heat that’s being
exchanged between both the carport and
the vehicle is not adequate enough to keep
the surfaces warm enough to keep frost
from forming.

•I say no to that proposal:
-Leaves a conduit for even more heat to
escape/not-be-exchanged between the
two objects (vehicle/carport).
-Increases chances for frost formation.
(Substitute Dew for Frost, whenever
Summertime temperatures prevail.)
