What Do You Use to Pretreat Auto Carpet/Upholstery?

I have a Vapamoor steamer. While it does a fabulous job on my home ceramic tile, I cannot say the same for cleaning auto carpet/upholstery. It might be the pretreat chemical that I am using, it might not be.. I am using both Car Brite Blue Max and Hot Stuff to pretreat with. I would like to hear what you use for pretreating auto carpet/upholstery, how well does it work for you, and do you use a steamer?
