Using the same pads with different products
I plan on buying the griot guard universal washer.
1- After I clean the pads with the GGUW, can I use the pad with different products? Let's say I was using it with the wolfgang uber compound, after cleaning the pad can I use it with wolfgang swirl remover or wolfgang finishing glaze?
2- From what I've read so far, it seems that pads used with sealants (wolfgang deep gloss sealant) are harder to clean up, so it is better not use this pad afterwards with other products.
Any insight will be greatly appreciated, I am a newbie but I am eager to learn.
Re: Using the same pads with different products
I have no issue using different products for my compounding and polishing pads. I see no issue from first hand experience. As for the dedicated sealant pads, I have not experienced any issue either. IE if I use brand X sealant an clean the pad as best as I can and in the future use Brand Y sealant...no issue there too.
But another way of not running into this problem is have enough pads for your detailing. I have a bunch of each (Lake Country Pads). I have a bunch of Orange, White, Black, Red and Gold pads.
Again, I would not see any issue of what you are trying to accomplish.
Re: Using the same pads with different products
Thank you, I'll order a few of each for sure, just wanted to make sure. Thank you
Re: Using the same pads with different products
I have another question. Here's my plan, I will buy the rupes nano and the flex 3401.
I will buy 5.5 inch pads for the flex3401 but was wandering if I should also buy 4inch pads to seal the gaps from my nano 1inch and 2 inch pads
Re: Using the same pads with different products
I believe the 4" Pads are too small for the Flex 3401. I am not familiar with the Nano so I cannot comment. I take the foam pad off from my DA and apply the sealant by hand if I can't reach it with a DA. I re-attach the pad and keep on trucking.
If you are getting the Nano I think the 4" Pads will not be necessary.
