Poorboys Bug Squash - 1st thoughts
Ok so I've been kind of excited about adding this product to my arsenal for a while now, and I finally got some.. I even bought a special bottle just for it too.. But my initial experience was far from what I was expecting.

I diluted it @3:1 with distilled water.

Did a bucket wash on the Kia after it's been raining off/on this past week.. Pre rinsed, then began spraying the Poorboys along the plastic rocker panel trim, which led to a little here and there, and before ya know I said eh why not a light spray on almost the entire vehicle and then began my bucket wash.
But as I was going along [at a good pace, certainly not wasting any time] I began noticing that something was drying white along my exterior plastic trim which I've never seen happen... This trim is and has been coated since day 1 and always looks better than new, but suddenly was drying white while I was in the middle of the wash?? Then I began to notice it sort of happening all over the vehicle [even though it's a white suv] and I immediately got majorly turned off with what had to be the cause of having used this?
We never even have bugs out here, but I was just thinking it would make washing even easier but maybe not? Is this a fluke? I dunno, but I didn't even bring it along to my next mobile wash, I left it at home.
Maybe I can get some thoughts from the people who are longtime users of this product.

Overall I like the product, but it does dry quite fast.
I try to work small sections at a time.
Ex: Spray on front, let dwell while I put soap in my solution bucket, use PB bug towels to 'scrub' bugs off, and repeat as needed around the car
Re: Poorboys Bug Squash - 1st thoughts
I've never used it on an entire car. The areas that needed it got it and there was never any white coloring left on trim or anywhere else for that matter.
Re: Poorboys Bug Squash - 1st thoughts
So, you used it as a presoak? NOT for bugs? Im not surprised your initial experience was far from what you expected. You didnt use it for its main purpose so it shouldnt have been a surprise.
Re: Poorboys Bug Squash - 1st thoughts
That certainly explains it clearly. Thanks for the replies.

I use it full strength to dissolve bug parts stuck in the radiator fins. Spray it, let it dwell a while and rinse. Bug parts will rinse right out.
I thought that was what it was designed for? Am I wrong?

Don't feel bad; I would have used it that way too. I like to push products to their limits.

The other day someone was asking if there was anything that could help as sort of a pre spray to help with moderate/heavy grime so he could pull up to the wash bay and possibly get most of the muck off with just the pressure washer... I stood up for this product and suggested it, no one else said a word. Even though it clearly says that's what it's for right on the label.

I don't feel like I was asking too much from it... It says right on the label "as a pre wash, rinse vehicle, then spray and start your normL wash routine and wash vehicle from top to bottom [insinuating there's no big rush]
BTW It was morning and I was in the shade for the most part.. This stuffs gonna collect major dust on my shelf... This could be most regrettable product purchased for me. Oh well.

It does say it can be used as a pre-soak, but it also very clearly says to not let it dry. It works great as long as you follow the directions. I will agree that it does dry quite fast so it can be a little bit of a PIA
