Griots garage PFM Terry Weave Towel Mini-Review
https://youtu.be/VNujuQ6VJHQ
I'm using Tapatalk if someone can embed the video thank you.
I will be doing a full through review soon on how it
Removes polish
Drys
Wax removal
I already use it above with detail spray.
In my opinion this really is the best microfiber towel you can buy, it's the ideal towel for detail spray.

Re: Griots garage PFM Terry Weave Towel Mini-Review
It's the only towel I've found that doesn't lint at all even when using it dry on glass. Pricey but totally worth it.

Re: Griots garage PFM Terry Weave Towel Mini-Review
On that one shot where you did one wipe and left a little streaking and after evaporating the streaking was gone. This tells me that the QD did a better job of not streaking than the towel. Not taking any thing away from the towel, but the Uber has a lot to do with the finish.
I enjoyed your review.

I enjoyed your review.
A quality product will help the situation, however I have to agree and disagree.
If I was to do the same test (and I have) with speed shine, forma detail spray, Adam's detail spray, meguiars ultimate quick detailer.
I get the same results.
The unique blend of the towel does a fantastic job to ensure a streak free finish.
However I see your paint about a quality product, however what would you consider a "non quality" detail spray so I can perform the test as well ?
Another reason why I feel the towel has alot to do with it because it's a fantastic and I think to be the best drying towel I have ever used. (That's my opinion, and subjective) however alot of people do agree it's a a1 drying towel.
On car just washed, I can make a pass and get that same evaporating streak free finish. It even does a fantastic job on not so well maintained cars.
I will be doing a full review soon, I was recording a vlog of me doing that bmw and was doing a final wipedown , so instead of just adding it in a long video I decided to make it a dedicated video.
Have you tried the pfm yet ? Try it its not a ordinary towel.

Re: Griots garage PFM Terry Weave Towel Mini-Review
I just used my pfm towel & yes I do like it. I remember reading that some guys had trouble ringing out the excess water because it was so thick. well I find that to be half true because I dried off my entire pickup(1500 ram/regular cab) & could not get any water out of the towel. I mean it's not too bulky to use or wring out. but I couldn't get any water to leave the towel. it didn't effect drying the truck but how is everyone drying the towel ? are you guy's washing the towel after every car wash ? or just letting it hang on the line for a couple of days. it really works good, I just don't like leaving it hanging around the garage for a couple of days before I can put it away. the large size is fine but am thinking about a smaller one for touch ups. nice going Griots, love the towel.

I always cycle my towels.
However if any towel can be hung out to dry and re use it is the pfm.
If your car has perfection showroom paint, it is wise to cycle towels. If you do let it sit to dry the water can make the fibers slightly harder, however once wet they will get soft again and like you said above it is great at absorbing water.
Like I always say give a car the respect it deserves. If it's a clean car and in great paint condition I will use quality towels.
If im working on a daily driver that is been driven hard and the owner really does not care about polishing and swirls, I will use my cheap towels. Because I do not want to contaminate my good towels.
Doesn't make sense to use $100 dollar shoe polish on a $5 pair of shoes.

Re: Griots garage PFM Terry Weave Towel Mini-Review
I've come so close to buying this towel so many different times now.
Just noticed yesterday that they have them at AA. They didn't have the price listed on the rack and I forgot to grab one and take it up to the register after I grabbed some oil.

There usually 11.99 for 1 22.99 for a 2 pack.
Waiting for a order from ag would be wiser , as you can get a discount code on your entire order.,

i use it for detail spray too. it is a nice towel but not the best. its overly thick to work with and its not the smoothest over the paint

have you ever used the cobra guzzler gold waffle weave or the regular guzzler waffle weave? in my opinion they are far better drying towels. the gg pfm is better as a quik detail towel i think

Re: Griots garage PFM Terry Weave Towel Mini-Review
Are we talking about the same towel from AG that's $40??

Re: Griots garage PFM Terry Weave Towel Mini-Review
The PFM terry weave towels are great and very versatile. The 16x16 2-packs are the most popular size, but the larger drying towel uses the same terry weave microfiber material.
I see that Griots has now reduced the price of the 2-pack 16x16 towels to $19.99 on their website and in their catalog (down from $22.99), so when purchasing through AG don't forget to price match and "stack" your discounts when AG is running a sale!

Can a 2 pk (16x16) dry a mid size sedan or would a larger towel be better?

The smaller towels can dry A midsize sedan just fine. They are very impressive!

Re: Griots garage PFM Terry Weave Towel Mini-Review
I have no problem drying a midsize car with one 16x16 PFM towel. Great towel IMO.

Do you need to wring it out?

I don't think you'll need to wring it out. I used a big towel & couldn't get any water to come out of it. I'm also going to purchase a smaller one to use on my painted bumpers. big one might drag on the ground. my only problem is where to leave the towel for a couple of days so it can dry out. if Clark Griswold would have had a wet PFM towel when He crashed the family truckster He would have been fine.

Re: Griots garage PFM Terry Weave Towel Mini-Review
Well since so many are saying that you can wipe down a mid size sedan with one 16X16 towel without wringing it out, I have to try it out. Just ordered a 2 pk. and see how it goes. And yes I will use the sheething method after rinsing.

Re: Griots garage PFM Terry Weave Towel Mini-Review
Has anybody compared these Griot's towels to the Microfiber Madness equivalents? They were the first ones to make expensive towels that never disappointed. Unfortunately AG never sild them. I can't imagine that the Griot's are any better than the MM Dry Me Crazy towels. They're probably identical in performance. I'd love to see that comparison.

Just used the PFM towel on a Altima and it didn't quite dry the whole car. Last section to dry was the front grill and bumper..it started to streak. I must say that I was still impressed with how much area a little 16X!6 towel would dry. Since I bought a 2 pack, I'm sure 2 towels will do the job.

Do you think the larger towel would've been a better choice? Or are you completely happy you bought the 2pk. small towels?

I have and the MM towels are much better IMO. On my recent AG order, I purchased the big blue drying towel. I have not had a chance to try it yet. It seems to be similar to the MM towel. Hopefully it works just as good.

I would imagine that the larger PFM would he heavy when wet and harder to handle. The 16X16 was very manageable and could be wrung out if needed.
Yes, the two towel pack suits me just fine,

Re: Griots garage PFM Terry Weave Towel Mini-Review
I agree, they're just competing though. Cant beat MM towels (those Germans )

I'm reading the PFM towels feel a bit stiff. That may be concerning for scratching softer paint.

It may not be as soft as a plush MF, but softer than a waffle weave and that doesn't seem to scratch soft black paint.

The GG bottles are awesome. I save them too. Regarding the PFM towel, I found one on clearance at AA for $3. Love it.
