Quality, fine grade clay bar search
I was introduced to the merits of a clay bar in 2000. I was blown away. My supplier since then has been in constant supply until recently. It seems as though 4 star products is not the company it used to be. Anyway, I am looking to purchase an equivalent fine grade clay bar, in bulk, that's carried by Autogeek. It must not break apart or get stuck in window trim. Griot's garage is notorious for doing this, as it's too soft. What else is out there that is good?
Re: Quality, fine grade clay bar search
I don't know if AG carries it or not but the best results I have ever had with clay has been the original Clay Magic. The fine grade is blue. Like you, I have tried many others but Clay Magic beats them all, hands down.
Re: Quality, fine grade clay bar search
Clay magic is what Ric originally carried. Then he had his own, private label that was a clone to Clay Magic. That is what I'm trying to replicate, as it's awesome stuff.

For the high-end cars, I use Pinnacle’s Ultra Poly Clay is the single finest clay composition available today. Use auto Detailing clay to deep clean car paint, glass and chrome.
Pinnacle’s Ultra Poly Clay is the single finest clay composition available today. Ultra Poly Clay is substantially finer than our original Poly Clay, while maintaining all of its advantages. With this ultra fine clay, you can maintain a totally clean, sleek finish everyday. We’re calling it “enthusiast grade” for perfectionists who want that just-clayed finish all the time!
Plus, I think AG is having a 50% off Pinnacle sale as we speak.

That's what I was looking for Paul, thanks so much for the tip. Gonna do a trial run with a 2 bar purchase. If it measures up, 2 cases will be ordered.
Re: Quality, fine grade clay bar search
I think I read somewhere that the patent protection was about to expire on clay bars. If that is true there is going to be a ton of clay hitting the market (plus the resulting marketing BS). Me I stick with my Speedy Prep Towel (fine grade). Been using this for 4 years and still works for me.
Re: Quality, fine grade clay bar search
I have found this to be one of the best I've used Optimum yellow clay.
Optimum Opti-Clay, optimum clay bar

I've seen Mike Phillips use that towel to demonstrate it's effectiveness. How do you, or do you, clean the towel? Does it induce scratches, being that it's a towel? How much use do you get out of 1 towel? Thanks for the alternate suggestion. Sometimes it's good to think outside the box. Will wait to hear back from you before I make the decision to buy.
