Re: Lake Country ThinPro Foam Pad System
What exactly is hybrid foam? What is it a hybrid of? Foam and what?
-
Re: Lake Country ThinPro Foam Pad System
I almost was going to buy them as my customer set of pads but ending up going with the regular thick pads for easier use around curves
-
Re: Lake Country ThinPro Foam Pad System
Fantastic! In the cart too. I just have one query though, this overlaps with the HD Orbitals?

I was told that it is called hybrid because if you press it, it cuts, if you release pressure it polishes; thus the hybrid name.

Open and closed cells.

Re: Lake Country ThinPro Foam Pad System
They work great for polishing especially with car pro reflect.

BINGO! Reticulated and non-reticulated foam structures. Could also be referred to as a partially reticulated foam.

Re: Lake Country ThinPro Foam Pad System
Been testing these out for a while now. 3401, rotary and g21. They work awesome!!!

I suppose that marketing should
always be FUN and engaging; but:
I can't help but think that this particular
conversion-optimization of "hybrid"...
represents, (at least to me), some very
creative advertising by a full-stack developer.

Re: Lake Country ThinPro Foam Pad System
Does anyone know if these pads have a beveled edge? Can't really tell from the photos

Re: Lake Country ThinPro Foam Pad System
I'm a newbie, using the LC 5.5 flat pads on a PC 7424 XP. Anything to gain by going with these pads on the PC?
Thanks!
-
Re: Lake Country ThinPro Foam Pad System
I guess they are exclusive for Autogeek, couldn't find them on their site.
I wonder how thin they are? They don't give a dimension.

I'd assume yes, these should be the cat's meow on the PC, and other free spinning DAs.
I would've grabbed some with my last order had I known, perhaps a couple different types, a few of each to try them.
And yes, I'd also like knowing as others, are the edges beveled-rounded, and how thick are they?
-
Re: Lake Country ThinPro Foam Pad System
I am glad LC continues to offer new products as flat pads rather releasing them as CCS pads.

I didn't even know they existed until MarkD51 had brought it up to me this morning! Darn it!

Re: Lake Country ThinPro Foam Pad System
Wonder how they compare to the BOSS pads.....similar Im guessing.
-
Re: Lake Country ThinPro Foam Pad System
Hmmm... I wonder if they would ever do a 1/2" thick hydrotech?

Glad too see your positive nature shining through. Mom always told me if you you don' have anything nice to say, STFU. Can't wait to try the new pads and see how they work, awesome I'm sure, we'll see Robert. Take care.
Peace,
Darrin

I got it bad, man! We have these, and the B&S low pro...
Don't be surprised to find that I've built a house of pads somewhere..
The next thing I want to try are the boss mf pads - on my Rupes!

I didn't see the buff n shine low pros yet is there a link somewhere?
I have the entire boss lineup 5.5 inch and 6 and have not used the microfibers yet, I have never had go go that aggressive yet. But all the pads are built so tough great quality

Re: Lake Country ThinPro Foam Pad System
Only thing on AG at this point is here: Buff & Shine Low-Pro Large Throw Foam Pads 5.5 Inch
The 5.5" are designed for 15mm throw and there are also 6.5" pads for 21mm throw. I've been using the 5.5" pads for the last month on my G15. So far very impressed--was using the G15 with my standard B&S flat pads with great results, but the new Low-Pro pads made it run much smoother than it was. Low-Pros are very substantial (as I would expect with B&S) and are designed to keep product on the surface rather than soaking in--works well--makes cleaning on the fly very easy.

Re: Lake Country ThinPro Foam Pad System
Definitely going to give these a shot with my long throw machines. I'd like to see how they behave with a rotary too.
-
Re: Lake Country ThinPro Foam Pad System
Here are a few pictures of one of the pads. I have used all of them with very good results. In fact every correction besides my last 2 this year have been with these new thin pads. One thing I noticed is that the pads seem to clean very well in the fly with compressed air. I have pretty much stopped using my CCS pads in favor of these.

Re: Lake Country ThinPro Foam Pad System
They look very similar to the Meguiars thin foam discs.

How do you find these holding up after a few cars (assuming 3-4 used per car)?
Are these made from the hybrid foam similar to the LC pads for 3401?
Are the cut levels similar for this orange vs their other orange offerings ?
Would you describe what the grey thin pad resembles with GG new white pad/ Rupes UHS/carpro flash ?

They have been holding up very well!!! That orange pad has seen tons of use this year
That I can't be sure about since I don't have a lot of time with the hydrids for the 3401.
I would say yes but with better finishing ability. I have used the orange pad on harder clear coats for a one step correction with FG400 with killer results.
I really have only used the gray pad for spot correcting and messed around with it on my 3401 to see about removing 2500 wetsanding marks. It did remove them with ease. I have found that the orange and white and black pads to be very versatile and have used them with my rotary, 3401 with great results.
I haven't used the Carpro flash pad or the UHS system

Thanks for getting back quickly.
For the gray pad, I just wanted to gauge it's hardness, so I mentioned other brands similar offerings.
Looks like orange foams would be q good starting point. Nice to see these priced unlike the long throw pads.
You mentioned using these with rotary... Given their low profile, I thought these would generate a lot of heat and can't really be someone's regular goto on rotary.

Sorry about the misunderstanding. The gray pad is very firm.
Before I got my hands on these I was only using the CCS pads, even in my rotary. After trying them on the 3401 I figured I would give them a shot on the rotary. Needless to say I was impressed and really got good results.

Re: Lake Country ThinPro Foam Pad System
I was looking at getting these for my flex 3401 but the rep on the phone from autogeek talked me out if it and said it was better to use the thicker hybrid pads because of the forced rotation and there needs to be some give. He stated that the thinner pads were good for random orbitals but not for the flex. Any feedback would be much appreciated! Great work on the civic by the way it looks mint.

It really comes down to user preference. I personally used the LC CCS before I was given these to test out. I found these to work very well with my 3401. Now the thicker hybrids that are specifically made for the 3401 probably are better suited but I have not tried them.
Thanks for the compliments on the Civic.

Re: Lake Country ThinPro Foam Pad System
This is interesting because I contacted LC when I first got my G21 and asked if they were going to make any thiner pads, and was told no. Just last week purchased some griots Boss pads for 3 times the price.

What do you think of the boss pads? I just ordered a bunch during the sale for my 21
