Re: BMW Cerium Grey Wheels
I’d try Brake buster as it is pretty mild but has some bite. I’ve read a lot normal coating won’t change the look a lot and wheel coatings are suppose to be better for higher temperature.
Dr Beasley’s has a matte sealant for wheels which I would use for maintenance and would use C5 which Gtechniq says is suitable for matte and satin wheels.

Griots Garage Wheel Cleaner (the green one) is a really mild wheel cleaner and does a great job on that sticky BMW brake dust. When I owned a 435 MSport, it easily cleaned up the wheels.
Agree the coatings shouldn't have any affect on the appearence. The wheels on my car a satin gray metallic and when I used some left over Gyeon Mohs EVO on them, I noticed no change in the look of the wheel.
Re: BMW Cerium Grey Wheels
I'd say coat them as a first pass - of the Cerium is exactly like their Cerium trim, love the finish but it shows water spot very easily

Re: Brake dust.
To eliminate that brutal, wheel-destroying, Brembo brake ash, I've been using these pads for years now.

As long as you're only street-driving, these work great. Even on my 4600lb. Charger. The 6-piston Brembos are dust generators.
