Re: Skybaby Victory!
Thank you! I'm scared to use a machine but within a few months I plan to buy one and start practicing on one of the other (older) sadly abused cars!
There were a few suspect characters down the street so I didn't pull the car out of the garage. The sun was high in the sky anyway. Tommorrow maybe but friday at the very latest I will get the juicy shots. Just a few minutes ago I went ahead and applied a little test. Some Crystal mist on the drivers rear side panel and Aquawax on the drivers front side panel. The drivers side door as well as the rest of car remains finished with nothing over the Ultima. I'll see how it looks in the sun when I pull her out there tommorrow or Friday.

Re: Skybaby Victory!
WOW madness polishing by hand! I know when I last polished by hand it just wore out my hand doing 1/3rd of the roof (well I was only using the Meguiar's Mirror Glaze Swirl Remover 2.0 so it didn't have too much cut). You must have toughed it out!!
Well done and nice work, it looks great.

Re: Skybaby Victory!
For all that hard work, you need to detail 1 persons car for a reasonable amount of money and then go off and buy yourself a machine polisher!!! Because most people cant even achieve that kinda shine with their hands! (this is coming from someone who used to use black turtle wax and rub for hours at time hahah). I love the Sky and you did a great job!

Re: Skybaby Victory!
Came out nice. But you really should buy a random orbital polisher like a Porter Cable. I use to polish by hand and bought a PC and was amazed at how much easier you can work out the defects. I would say that with a random orbital polisher it is hard to mess up the paint. It takes a little more experience with a circular polisher as you can burn the paint pretty quick if you are on corners or do not keep it moving.
The PC is a easy machine to learn to use and there is a lot of support
here on the forums if you have any questions or problems.
