Muddy carpeted wheel wells.. Any tips?

At least once a month a customer comes to me with carpeted wheel wells packed with sand and dirt. I have to spend 45-60 mins just power washing before I even start any real work. It’s getting frustrating, and I haven’t found the courage to charge extra for muddy carpeted wells.
Do you guys have any tips on how to manage these? I think next time I will try compressed air to dislodge the sand, I’ll see how that works.

Stick with the power washer method, compressed air could send that stuff everywhere. Charge him $100 extra for the service.

What kind of brush are you using?
Re: Muddy carpeted wheel wells.. Any tips?
None, I just go right to work with the pwr washer. I have an adjustable end that really helps.

LOL....I'm the muddy wheel well champion..
Solution...a power washer(3000 psi)...turbo tip
And a chair to sit your ass in
Time.....15 minutes a wheel well to do it the right way

Good lord… Just get yourself a Mothers Wheel Well Brush and some Bug & Tar Remover, Degreaser, APC, or whatever you prefer and be done with it in less than 1min.

I'm going to disagree with you man......not a chance
I just did my truck yesterday...15 minutes a wheel well....the fabric is THICK like carpet.
You get mud on it it soaks in like a wet dog and the more you wash it...the more mud keeps coming out.
It is a horrible product, I don't care that it reduces noise...it is a pain in the ass if you get it muddy!
I just went and took these close up pics to show the texture
