    PC backing plate.

Just got my new PC polisher today from Santa. (Ok, the wife)

The backing plate is black, and not yellow like I've seen in all of Mike's videos and in his book. (Which is GREAT by the way)

Is this just a change in manufacturing, or did I receive the wrong plate?

Does it have Velcro on the back? PC's normally come with a sanding backing plate which is smooth.

if it's the stock backing plate that came with the machine then it's pretty much useless. here's the ones to get when you decide to do another order. pick up the 3", 3.5", and 5" DA backing plates and don't forget pads too...

which brand was the backing plate you received if it wasn't the stock one that came with it?

Yes, it has a velcro face.

Not sure...... I ordered the kit that said it came with the 5" backing plate. This one is of the velcro face type, just not yellow in color like I've seen in all pics/descriptions.

I have a black plate and no problems except it seems to get hotter than the Yellow Lake Country backing plate.

Thanks, WC. Yeah, that's what I'm a little worried about. Maybe I'll contact Nick. All the pics of the kit clearly show the yellow plate.

Just remember to paint or mark a line on the backing plate so you can see if the pad stops turning. It should always be spinning around or you are applying to much pressure.

Thanks, Wax. Yeah, I've read that & seen Mike do it on all his videos. With the black plate, I'll have to use a white paint pen I guess. Lol

A silver Sharpie market works well.
