Tried my PC on my friends C5

Tried my PC on my friends C5 and got nowhere. The machine works great on my two cars but I started with a LC white pad and pinnacle Advanced Finishing polish. This got me nowhere. Switched to my LC orange pad and some XMT Intermediate Swirl Cutter, this also got me nowhere. Literally had no effect whatsoever on his car. Granted it was about 95 degrees outside and was doing this in direct sunlight in my driveway. I knew Vettes' have a hard clear coat but damn! Could the intense heat just have been breaking the polish down too fast? He was gonna buy a PC himself but was pretty unimpressed by my display. Any comments welcome.

The PC will do the job, it will just depend on what pad/product you use.
I will use either a yellow or orange pad. With products like 3M extra cut, Menz powergloss Menz SIP, DP super swirl remover,

To achieve excellence, excellence cannot be rushed. Technique is just as important as the product used.
While my approach takes more time, the results are far superior.

the clearcoat on C5/C6 Vettes is as hard as they come. You will need a very good polish (use ceramiclears), some great pads, some patience, and alot of time and speed.

The clear on vettes is a #####. If you're using a PC then Id use 3M or Menz. PG for sure. Otherwise, learn how to use a rotary. Thats what I did.

I'm a big fan of Menz Power Gloss. Have had very good results with it on an '07 Caddy STS. It's red with a black flake in it. Really a beautiful color. it was swirled to all hell and had some surface scratches on it. I used my PC w/ 6" yellow Edge 2k and PG. For the tought scratches areas that got hit with some type of road debris, I used a 4" Edge yellow pad and removed 95% of these scratches.
