Re: Help me make the RIGHT decision!?!?!
I went with the Lake Country flat pads.
Also you'll want to mark your back plate to make sure it is rotating correctly.

Re: Help me make the RIGHT decision!?!?!
If you can afford it, I'd get the Flex 3401 instead (better, faster). I started with the PC7424 and still use...but to clean carpet/leather.

Re: Help me make the RIGHT decision!?!?!
I can afford it…. but is spending the additional $200 going to make that big of a difference?
Will I be able to get the same results using any one of the other two mentioned? (pc or gg6)
Remember, this is just going to be my hobby…. not my occupation.
But I also don't like to skimp and like to get the job done and done right.
I'm completely open to all ideas here…

Just always be careful so you don't burn through the CC.

Still might want to get a machine though. Compounding and polishing the whole car by hand won't be any fun.
However, even having the machines I have. I would still attempt to remove the first picture by hand. Especially since it looks like it's on an edge.
Its to hard to tell with the second picture, what needs to be done, by the picture alone.
Just my 2 cents. Good luck!

Re: Help me make the RIGHT decision!?!?!
hey hernandez….was just checking out your Flex 3401 thread and now you have me convinced to get one too.
would you recommend I get a Flex too or would something else "fit" my basic needs?
Price isn't an issue… I just wan't to know what would be best for Me and My situation.
And yea, you are probably right that I should take out that first one by hand… but the second one id feel much better doing it by machine.
You did an excellent job in those pics btw…
If I do go ahead and do this by hand, which foam cut pads would you recommend.
Thanks in advance!

Get Megs Ultimate Compound instead of 105, it's much more user friendly and it's the consumer version of 105.

Re: Help me make the RIGHT decision!?!?!
I didn't quote anyone because they all gave you really good advise. You won't regret getting the Flex, it's a great machine. Any of the LC pads will work well, I can't tell that much difference between any of them. The Hydro-Tech pads work as well as any and there are only three to buy which makes it simple.
You also won't find any product that works better than the Meguiars Ultimate line. I just used my Flex with the three HT pads and Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish and finished up with Ultimate Polymer Wax and the results were amazing. Good luck, you're on the right track.

Re: Help me make the RIGHT decision!?!?!
You'll like your Flex3401. The pads you had selected for the PC will work fine on the Flex. This Lake Country quick change backing plate system is quite popular for Flex users. FLEX XC3401 Changeable Backing Plate System
