    GG 6" Pads

I'm just an old-school person, used to washing and paste wax. But with a couple of new cars I figured it's time to upgrade my skills. This is for my own rides, not to make money.

I'm leaning toward a GG 6". The addition of 5" pads seems like a good one. Since I also ride motorcycles, I wondering if 3" pads would work on the 6" unit. Be helpful on fenders and the tank.

So, can I put 3" pads on a GG 6"?

You can but you'll need a backing plate to go with it. I don't believe Griot's but of course you can get one at Autogeek.

    Re: GG 6" Pads

buy the GG6 and a 5" DA backing plate and 5.5" pads, and also a 3"-3.5" DA backing plates as well because you can use 3"-4" pads. some 4" pads have recessed velcro/hook & loop from the edge and some do not...

+1. Order the GG6 starter kit from AG that includes pads. They are 6.5, but call AG after you order and have them switch out for the 5.5 inch pads. Just remember to add a 5" backing plate.

Thanks for clarifying this. I've read a bunch of posts here but couldn't tell if the 3" backing plate would work. Some suggested it would, but never said directly.

    Now to spend some money!

    Re: GG 6" Pads

If I order a GG6 starter kit, will it be a 3rd gen 10813 version that will be shipped, or is it the earlier model?

Also, will the LC 5" backing plate work with the GG6?

Sorry if these are silly questions, but I am just getting started in this.

Mathwiz, I don't know about the LC but the Meg's 5" plate works on my GG6.

Yes, the GG6 you will be receiving will be the third generation which is the newest/latest offering. The lake country 5" DA backing plate will work just fine...

    5" plate=a must

3-3.5=great for tight areas and probably good for the motorcycle just remember to tone down your speed a little.
    It's all in the details
