    Which Brand 3" Backing Plate?

I was going to order a 3" backing plate on Amazon, but they all have sub-par reviews. A couple people said the Chemical Guys plate immediately stripped its threads or fell apart, and others just didn't get what they ordered because of shady sellers.
Either way, I have no way of knowing which is going to do the job. I just want one that won't break and that will hold my hook & loop pads in place. What do you guys recommend?

Thanks in advance for the help!

By the way, I'm buying it for a Meg's G110V2, my first DA

I like to go a step further and match the same bp manufacturer to the same pads...

So LC plate to LC pads and Meguiar's plate to Meguiars pads.

100% agree. Many BP's hook & loop systems are designed to go hand in hand with the back of a pad that it was designed for. Not that you cant use other brand pads, but you will get better performance & longetivity of your pads if using the same brand & pad it was designed for. Contrary to popular belief, not all velcros are the same.

Just an FYI. I've used Meg's, BnS, & LC on the LC 3" plate and they all work fine. No pads flying across the room.

As soon as the inventor's patent expired:
There was a World-wide rush to counterfeit the hook&loop-system.
Many of the these fakes still fail today...And: In more than one way.

Probably the same fate awaits the now 'un-patented' auto-clays.

Its not so much that the BP doesnt hold on the pad, its more of a HEAT transfer issue. Some cheaper BP brands will overheat the foam pads backing far easier than other brands due to the style and material used in the hook & loop system.

As well as using all of them with Megs backing plates.
