    Included pad

I'm new to DA polishing and have yet to do it... I bought a 7424XP which came in about mid week. I still need to invest some money into pads before I try to do a correction job to either of our vehicles; 2 LC CCS pads were included - orange & gray.

Having said that, the 7424XP also came with the standard PC white polishing pad as well. I was thinking about trying out this pad with DP Glass Restorer. I figured this may be a way for me to play with the DA a bit, get a feel for the pressure needed to spin the pad, while not having to touch any paint. Possibly even dedicating this pad for glass polishing... thoughts?

Here's some helpful information on that pad.

The white foam pad that comes with a Porter Cable Polisher

So here's the skinny, the white pad in the box,

    • Is a Polishing Pad, not a cutting pad or a finishing pad
    • Has a fixed backing plate that is glued to the foam, it cannot be detached and used with other pads
    • Measures approximately 6" in diameter and is 1.5" thick

Porter Cable 7424XP brand new in the box...

Here's the included white foam polishing pad...

Thanks Nick. I did a quick search before posting, but didn't find the thread you linked.

I figured as much regarding investing in pads for polishing paints and that's exactly what I intend to do. I just figured I could play with it a bit on the glass first while I don't have all of the other pads just yet...
