    Backing plates/pads for my GG6

I have a GG6” on the way and looking to purchase some pads before the sale runs out. It comes with the 6” backing plate and my question is will i be able to “safely” use the LC 6.5” Flat pads more specifically these… Lake Country 6.5 FLAT Pads 6 Pack - Your Choice! , Or should I use a 5” backing plate? Also any recommendations on different size backing plates and pads I should buy for the GG6. For now this will be my only buffer/polisher and I want to use it for as many things as possible, headlights, tight corners and edges, exct… Thanks in advanced!

I use the GG6. I would definitely look into a 5'' backing plate and the Lake Country Hydrotech 5'' set. I gotta give credit to Smack for turning me onto that combo. You've picked a great machine and the 5'' set-up offers more of a focused correction which pays off in ease of use and time!

the 6" bp will be fine with the 6.5" pads

you might want to get a 3.5 BP and some 4" pads for tight areas.

I just picked up some hydrotech pads and they feel great. I have only used the finishing one and i like the feel. They are closed cell foam so the product doesn't get absorbed into the pad.

Thanks for the recommendations It seems that the hydrotech pads are popular, I will have to give them a go. Will the 5” hydrotech pads be too small for the 5” BP though?

The LC 5'' BP and hook and loop is less than the 5'' diameter
Here are some pics I took for you. Sorry about the bluriness, I wanted to cap these for you before the sale ran out.

Thanks for the photos! I order the 5” BP and pads, as well as the hydro-tech 6.5” pads. Even got my self some 4” pads and 3.5” Bp as well. Can’t wait to use it, I’ve owned a Porter Cable but left it in California during my move! I hear good things about the GG6
