    Porter-Cable 7" Variable-Speed Polisher

I've been wondering if any here have used the PC Model 7428?
I was looking at one of those, and the price is about the same you can find on the Model 7424
Why is it that people would still buy the 7424 (Orbital) and not the PC 7428 (Rotary)?

With the introduction of the UDM, can the UDM be equally or better than the 7428?

well, DA and rotary are two different buffers. many prefer the 7424 because its very safe and effective to use, especially for beginners and those working on a lot of customers' cars, preventing damage.

i want to start getting into the rotaries and save some time.

Well, my point was kind of...why not the 7428?
I wonder how it fares against the Makita, DeWalt, Hitachi, and the such...

In my opinion, the PC7424 is a great tool, even if I ever own a rotary, I think I would still keep my PC in hand

It is usually much more expensive compared to the Makita & DeWalt, but this deal is almost too good to pass up... nice find
