    Older 7424 loss of power

My PC is probably 12-13 years old. It seems to have lost power. Just pushing down on it now slows the pad way down. Ideas for troubleshooting? Correct counterweight is in place.

is there a rebuild for these or no?

    TIA

Check out this thread from May:

    http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...g-replace.html

I ran into a similar issue, and custmsprty brought up the idea to change the brushes on the tool.

It's much cheaper than trying to replace, so maybe you should give that a shot.

    Hope this helps.

    Maybe new brushes?

Also, just to note, for you or anyone that has one of these first generation Porter Cable polishers, there's three brands of THIN pads out now that will greatly benefit these tools.

No but it looks like brushes are like $8 a set. I'll try that first. Thanks!!
