Any way to run 2 Inch or 1 Inch pads on a 7424?
Hey all...
Looking to see if I can run smaller pads on my 7424. Currently have it running 3 inch pads, since I have a larger RO for the big surfaces, but it would be real helpful to convert to smaller (also with perhaps some kind of extension to reach into wheels, around headlights, etc.).
Any possibilities out there?
Thanks in advance...
Eric

I bought a small pad kit on amazon. It works ok but the only annoying thing to me is the orbital throw of the PC machine (which i think is 9mm?) doesn't allow for the small pads to be useful in tight areas, which is why you want a small pad to begin with.
And if the small area you are polishing is not a flat surface, forget about any rotation of the pad because it won't spin. Even when backing off pressure.

But I still have no ideas on getting a smaller than 3 inch backing plate on it, which I have already, and don't have much of an issue with the tipping phenomenon.

Big thanks for this...good to know the stalling issue. I'll have to come up with a better solution.
