    7424 vs 7424XP

    Quick question.

I have a brand new 7424 never used. Is the 7424XP much different?

Would it make sense to replace the 7424 with the XP model? Besides more power, is there any major changes?

    Regards,

    Mike

If you're gonna replace your pc, get something else like long throw or forced rotation.

No, it wouldn't be worth it. I have the old version too, and it works perfectly fine after 15 years of solid use. Plug yours in and enjoy.

I agree with BrettS4. I have an old 7336? version (sander) of the 7424 that still works fine after at least 15 years. The 7424XP shape has a little more ergonomic shape to it. I don't think there is much difference in motor power. Use the money to buy more pads.

To be honest KEEP what you have. I have the PC7424XP but my guess there really isn't much of a difference. No need to spend the $$ to get a slightly better ergonomic DA. You probably wouldn't even notice a difference if they were side by side. Neither would I.

I have both, and prefer the 7424. The xp does have more top end speed, but the overall power seems similar.
