The Uber All in one did a very nice job. I thought it was a little watery, but is was a good follow up to the compounding step. Cant complain about the results.

I'm a new member and have what many of you would be a dumb question so forgive my ignorance.
How is the flat black area in front of the scoop on the hood protected? It is taped off and I didn't see any protectant being applied.
Thanks!
Louis
We taped-off the edges before compounding and polishing.... here's a pictures from the first page of this thread...

Hi Mike and thanks for the reply.
I didn't properly ask my question regarding the flat-black surface.
What is the best product and technique to protect a flat-black surface from fading?
Thanks again!
Louis
Hi Louis,
There's not a lot of products specifically for matte black finishes that won't make them look opaque or chalky so be careful.
Here's what I've used in the past that works well.
Pinnacle Black Label Leather & Vinyl Coating
Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant
CarPro Pearl
The application and removal are important. Apply to a clean surface using a clean soft foam wax applicator pad and then softly wipe any excess off using a clean soft microfiber towel.
