Thanks for posting, Mike. You guys sure had a project on your hands! I think I see a future candidate for the Meguiar's coating, whenever it may, or may not, come out! :dblthumb2:

Thanks Ryan....
This was a huge job, lots of responsibility too because we had both experienced people and a few guys that had NEVER used a machine to buff paint before coming to Autogeek for this project.
Glad to say it's done and I've heard she'll be leaving us this week.
:props:
Here's a parting shot showing the completed project....

One of the coolest write-ups I've seen. Not only was this project massive, it turned out really nice.
The icing on the cake are the before and after photo's, for sure.
Great work gang!!
Hey Y'all
When is the next learning demonstration I keep looking but I must be not looking in the right spot.
I've been busy doing a 2003 iron Horse Chopper a cosmetic restoration , so its been sucking up time.

Blast from the past!
We did this project back in 2014 after Detail Fest. I actually didn't want this for a project, it was "gifted" to me.
Car Wax History
This is one of 2 Meguiar's Special Events Truck originally painted by Rich Evans of Huntington Beach Bodyworks. The story behind this story is I was in charge of the wetsanding teams for both trucks. Most of the team members were Meguiar's Customer Care Staff. We did all the sanding and buffing outside in the back of Rich's shop. It was hot and dirty. At the time the most aggressive compound Meguiar's had in their line was the M85 Diamond Cut Compound. While this compound was working it was too slow so we switched over to a 3M Compound. This was before 3M purchased Meguiar's in 2008.
In the picture below I have circled Rich's trademark "blade" style flames in his logo featured on both trucks.

Since then, both trucks have been repainted by some other shop but Rich was the original painter selected to tackle the job.
Personally - I don't ever want to wash and machine wax any truck this size. I prefer to let some other detailer have the "blessing".
