Some really fun pictures though plus we had a special guest...

You got me now, who was the special guest as I know it`s not me (although the jury is still out on me not being "SPECIAL").

To finish out just the sides of the Impala we used M101 with Orange Hybrid Foam Cutting pads on the Flex 3401 and then re-polished using the new Gtechniq P2 Jewelling Polish with some prototype gold jewelling pads on the Flex PE14 Rotary Buffer. Then we waxed the Impala with Max Wax Paste by machine.

Sorry for the late post. I've never used those products but the results speak for themself. That is about the finest finish on a white car I've ever seen. I'm courious in your opinion how much the jeweling affected the final result? And did you run the RB's at about 1000rpm?

It's never to late to post to any thread on this forum and there's never a time limit.

It really came out nice. I'm not a fan of working on white cars because about the most you can get out of white is a lot of gloss but in the gloss category, this thing excels.

Of course I always thought this project was glossy too and this was all done using simple DA Polishers.

I think on this paint job the jeweling really helped to max out the gloss. As for RPM I know we started by following the manufacturer's directions and then just did everything between 600 and 900 RPM, which is the 1 and 2 setting on the Flex PE14

In the new second edition of my how-to book I talk about,

    • Jewelling
    • Gloss panels
    • Gloss points

And this car received the point of these three topics in the book...
