Was it the wool pad that Meguiar's offers in 7"?

I'm looking to buy a 3403 and want to figure out which wool pad works best.
That was the 7.5 inch Hook & Loop DuroWool 100% Twisted Wool Cutting Pad

Some pads that work well with the 3403 are the,

    Edge 2000 6" foam pads
    Edge 2000 6" wool pads
    Meguiar's W-7006, W-8006 and W-9006
Lake Country 5.5" foam flat pads
    The 6" Kompressor Pads
    Lake Country Hydro-Tech Low Profile 5 1/2 x 7/8 Inch Foam Pads

Smaller in diameter allows the tool to work easier...

The Edge Wool Pads actually buff real nice on the 3403 plus they are perfectly centered.

Just took a look at them. Sine I plan on finishing with a DA, I'll pick up the black and yellow pad. Perfect.

    Thank you, sir.

EDIT: I don't see the adapter?

But it doesn't look like you folks are selling the Edge adapter for rotary, at least I can't find it.

Oh..yeah...3M...you really should put that on the page with the Edge pads, or at least link it so it shows up on the related products when you bring up the big Edge pads.

Mike, as far as cut, which edge wool pad would compare to optimum's wool pad? Also, would the blue edge wool pad be equivalent to a finishing foam pad?

Either the black or the yellow, they're both aggressive wool cutting pads, if you want to get deeper the best thing to do would be to get both and do some side by side testing with some type of controls. Big picture is they are aggressive wool cutting pads, they cut paint.

As for your second question, anytime you use a fiber type pad you have the fibers cutting the paint, even if they are finishing or polishing pads. With foam you get away from individual fibers, so "no" they are no equivalent in end-results but they are in the same "general" category as for what they are intended to do.

3M is proud of their products.

Seriously, I'm writing an article on the 3403 and the adapter and once you get over the purchase price it's a very well made component that makes switching pads fast and easy and smooth and vibration free.

It's an awesome tool, especially when paired with the 3401.
