Detailing Flow Chart - The order we detail cars - May 2019

Detailing Flow Chart - The order we detail cars - May 2019

We detail so many cars in our BIG 3-day detailing Bootcamp class that the only way I can keep the class on pace and make sure the correct cars are moved in and out of our training center is to use a Flow Chart. This also helps Andre to know which cars need to be moved into the garage after we finish 2 cars.

For our May 2019 Class, here's the Flow Chart for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Note that we churn through 6 cars THE FIRST DAY! There is no other class like this on Planet Earth.

Saturday we only detail 4 cars because we start the day outside going over all the tools, products and techniques that I teach for washing cars. This includes a LOT more than washing cars. It includes, glass polishing, engine detailing, headlight correction, machine scrubbing tires, machine scrubbing plastic, chemical decontamination, mechanical decontamination and even more things that I cannot think of off the top of my head. And all of this take time and we do it first thing in the morning before it gets HOT outside. Then we move into the air conditioned garage.

This is only one of the cars the class will learn the art of wetsanding

After we wetsand, cut and buff then we cover interior detailing.

After interior detailing we do the Certificate Awards Ceremony followed by book signing.

I keep the Flow Chart in the garage because a lot of the students will take a picture of it to jog their memory for which car we used for all the different tools and techniques.

We just finished washing cars. Washing cars includes,

    Glass polishing
    Engine detailing
    Headlight correction
    Canvas top cleaning
    Vinyl top cleaning
    Iron and fallout removers
    Nanoskin wash mitts
    Foam guns
    Machine scrubbing tires
Car blowers - Metro-Vac and FLEX
Scads of brushes - Wheel Woolie, Mother's Speedmaster, Ultimate, etc.

We started at 7:30am and it's almost 11:00am.

    We washed,

    2016 Bentley
    2016 Jaguar
    1961 Cadillac
    2000 Honda

Now we're going to go over show car detailing with FLEX Tools, Lake Country Pads and SONAX products.

That's just the first part of Saturday.

We detailed 6 cars yesterday using these tool sets,

    1. 8mm Short Stroke polishers
    2. RUPES Long Stroke Polishers
    3. Griot's BOSS System

Here's just two of them and these were the FIRST cars this class trained on.

The flow chart keeps us on track.

Before taking any class, look for pictures like these, pictures that show the cars you'll work on BEFORE the class and then pictures from past classes showing the class actually working on cars. Not sitting in chairs looking at a power point slide or listening to a sales pitch.

Back to the garage - it's FLEX TIME!

    Hands-on!
