I was taught how to drive in a manual transmission truck and mostly have only owned them. I do have a jeep that is auto but that's for winter mostly. Even my semi is manual. Tried the auto for a minute and it just screwed me up. They quit making manual trans and I quit buying newer cars, simple as that.
Well Nick I've been driving a stick as a DD since 2000 (small break for a year and half with a Honda Fit from Feb 2010 till Sept 2011) and that was because they couldn't find me a 5 speed. I just couldn't take and bought the CR-Z after the Fit, I just had to have it. As you and my fellow members can attest is this, driving a stick makes you a better driver because you have to pay attention to what gear your in because when traffic slows down you need to downshift, in most cases. I'm going to drive a stick for as long as I can, don't care how much better a PDK or DCT is as far as speed goes, it just doesn't matter because you feel at one with the car when there's 3 pedals and there's NOTHING THAT CAN REPLACE THAT!
