I have surgery today to get my pain pump replaced because the batteries are going to run out in a couple months. My daughter takes me because my wife couldn't leave work. My wife shows up before they take me into surgery. They take me back to a room before releasing me. My daughter walks in the room. I ask her where her mother is. Her response "she broke her arm" my obvious response is "yea right". Then I notice she isn't smiling, or ready to chuckle. Apparently my wife went outside the hospital to call the kids and fell and broke her arm. And of course it's a bad break...she's right handed so naturally it's her right arm. then the hospital I was at doesn't have a orthopedic trauma unit so they had to take her by ambulance to Harris hospital about 30 miles away (at least it's the hospital where my son works).
The worst part was my surgery wasn't scheduled until Thursday. They called me yesterday afternoon and said they had a cancellation today and asked me if I wanted to get it done today. Sure wish I would have said no and had it done Thursday.
