We might hit 40 or 41 on Tuesday, that's not too bad. Low on Wednesday night into Thurs morning is supposed to be 1.

I do a winter forecast for a bunch of people at work, and have been for almost 10 years. Despite CT being in New England, about 2/3 of the state is considered the "Atlantic Corridor" according to the Farmer's Almanac. My forecast is based on weather in Hartford and takes into consideration monthly precipitation and some temperature trends. This year I discovered that in 2009, 2012, 2015, and 2018 (3-year intervals) the snowfall in December for Hartford was zero, or in 2012 just less than 2 inches. Additionally, there were a few days in December that had unusually high temps, usually in the 60's, and usually towards the end of the month. Such was the case this year in 2021, falling right in line with that 3-year interval trend.

If December has little to no snow with warm days, January usually ends up being no-frills, but February ends up having significant storms. The Farmer's Alamac called for very unsettled weather in January with a lull in February; I disagree. To date, we've had a couple of minor snowfalls in January with nothing in the horizon until the end of the month. I'm nervous that my prediction for a stormy February is going to come true.
