    Carbon cabin air filter?

Has anyone used carbon cabin air filter? Does it work better than regular paper filter?

    Re: Carbon cabin air filter?

My wife's previous 2002 VW Golf had an OEM paper one that I swapped with a Fram "Fresh Breeze" cabin filter. It did cut down on outside odors but had a poor fit into the cabin air filer housing and allowed a small amount of unfiltered air into the cabin.

    Heck yeah...

I have used them for a while and like them. Do some hunting, they don't have to cost a ton more than the paper ones.

I'll keep my eye out for them, my car says every 30K, seems kinda longish IMO as I usually replace once a year due to cost

I use them ... not a huge difference. I do like to stick with brand name filters like Bosch as possible for in-cabin use.

    Re: Carbon cabin air filter?

I put a Fram "Fresh Breeze" cabin filter in my husband's Subaru Outback. It does seem to make a bit of difference. Price wasn't much different from a regular filter, so why not? On the Outback and my Toyota Avalon, taking the filter out is easy so I pull them every 5000 miles or so and vacuum out the accumulated debris.

    Re: Carbon cabin air filter?

I just ordered a few filters from Rockauto.com. Good prices. I haven't tried a carbon filter yet but will on my next order from them.
