Re: Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

So it's been quite some time since I did a mod to the Abarth but I just ordered something. That something is a Euro Compulsion V3 intake. My current intake is the V2 from E.C. and it's an open filter, this new one goes directly into the stock air box and uses a Sprint dry, drop-in filter. I did this for a couple reasons, #1 is I'm trying to cut down on heat soak and IAT temps in the summer. From time to time the car goes into limpmode on hot days, while other hot days no problem, so I'm trying something here. Now for #2, the looks. My red pipes have turned an almost pink, especially when you look at the red of my stock air box. I chose a black intake pipe and bought a used black Ram-air pipe from a forum member an hour ago, this way it matches up. I should have NO problem selling my E.C. V2 intake, its going to be 5 years old when it comes off.

It's not going to make the BOV sound as much, if any, so I'll just have to get used to that, we'll see. I'll post a pic in a little bit, stay "tuned"Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

Gonna be down on hp too, I assume the open intake claims more power.

Cool Re: Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

The EUROCOMPULSION® V3 Air Induction System for the Abarth and FIAT 500T features our Premium 5 Ply silicone for maximum heat resistance and durability. Turbo friendly bends ensure a more efficient flow. Includes Stainless Steel Clamps, and a Genuine Sprint Filter when available. Allows only a slightly louder intake noise unlike the full out turbo noises of the V2. The V3 is not only Aesthetically pleasing but also delivers more air via our flow bench tested Silicone hose for increased flow plus the added benefit of a higher flowing drop in filter. An intake system that is often imitated but never truly replicated. All of our Silicone products are European made, we do not use Chinese Silicone, ever.

    FEATURES:
•Kit Comes Complete with All Hardware
    •Re-designed to include updated fittings/Ports
    •Noticeable Increased WHP and WTQ
    •+7WHP & +8WTQ (Stock Vehicle)
•Uprated Sprint Air Filter Now Standard and Included
    •Rally Inspired Design
    •Maintains Stock Appearance
•Utilizes our Premium European 5ply Silicone

What about a larger/more efficient intercooler? Or, have you done that already?

What's your 3 season set up?

Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Three season set up is currently the stock 17"s with a mish-mash of rubber that came on them when I got the car- looking to paint those white before the end of winter and mount 225's on the front and 195's in the rear. Winter mode is the base model 15" steelies you see painted Subaru STI BBS Gold- with studded Nokian Hakkapelita 9's in front and unstudded Firestone Winterforce in the rear (car has a tendancy to understeer upon initiation with no forward bite in the slippery stuff- so this balances it out to a great neutral set-up)
