Imagine Waking to this in your Backyard !

This picture was taken by a Lifeflight helicopter flying over Lake Istapoka, (For those of you who are not local, Lake Istapoka is near Sebring, Fl.) That has to be a HUGE gator to have a whole deer in its mouth!
Are you ready to go fishing on Lake Istapoka ? If you ski -- try not to fall.

Joe Goff, 6' 5" tall, a game warden with the Florida Game and Parks Commission, walks past the 23-foot, one inch alligator that he shot and killed in the back yard of Jayne & Don Hobkirk...

That's a big gator! I think I could set a new swimming record if it was behind me.

Our lakehouse is in Lake Placid (FL not NY like the movie), we're on Lake June which is about 10 minutes south of Sebring. The other house we had on Lake Placid had an area called Gator Pit....take a guess why...didn't stop anybody from wakeboard, tubing etc. When we had that drought a couple years the lake level was so low that we had a beach extending past the dock b/c of the water level. Walked on the dock one day and heard a loud hiss comming from under, peeked under and there was a gator chilling there.

That thing is hudge! To bad they had to shoot it though...but then again what do you do with a big beast like that.

Incredable how big that thing is.
