Just fyi, doing this is illegal, at least in Illinois. Carfax/Autocheck wants you to pay up individually.

Carfax only works if the vehicle has been reported or in a shop (i.e. dealership, auto body) that they can access the information. Just remember that it may not be completely accurate, especially if work was done on the side.

I wouldnt bank on what those services they lag(up to six month) and not everyone reports to them. Inspect the car your self, painted panels are easy to spot. Also what kind of car is it?

    Be careful with 'trusting' CarFax.

My truck was "flooded." New to me since I've had it since it was new.

    My $.02...

Well, im buying a old truck.
    A 1996 F-150 to be exact lol.
Just wanted a daily beater to get around town, and possibly give it to my dad to drive it, as soon as he is recovered from his surgery

    So that's what it is...
(Like I didn't know from the VIN)

Actually its not against the law to run a VIN check if you have a commercial account. Of course they frown on friends doing it. But....say you get a 30 day account you can run as many as you want. Just saying.

Who cares what the carfax says on a cheap old beater? If the 96 ford looks and runs good and isn't salvage (and is worth it to you) then you'd buy it even if the carfax said it has had a few accidents, eh?
    I see swirls everywhere!!!
