Just scored some detailing chemicals from my local Pepboys. Guy said they are all clearing out the store front and will become a service/tire center only.

I’ve noticed a lot of tire stores going up the last 2 years and started to wonder how this many tire stores are sustainable. Then I realized electric cars will go through more tires due to the torque and it makes perfect sense.

A buddy of mine has bought into a mobile tire franchise and of course I gave him the business that I had this year for my own car and it was the 1st time I went somewhere besides discount tire in over 25 years! The mobile tire guy is going to be a popular option because it seems people are so busy today so something that is more convenient to them is a big asset.

You would be amazed at how many tires are purchased every day. I was with Discount Tire for 28 years, my younger son is still with them. In the Dallas/Fort Worth and surrounding areas they have about 95 stores now. I know they are in Tennessee now, do they account for most of the new stores being built?
