Re: $10.00 hand car wash/detailers
My local $10 wash place finally raised prices to $15. Wash and vacuum. I had a friend ask them to detail his car for him and they didn’t know the meaning of the word, just wash and vac. Welcome to small town South GA.

Walk around, talk to other car folk and be friendly. Find the ones who are enthusiasts and love thier cars. Find thier weak points, swirls, buffer trails, scratches, swirled wheels, faded trim. Speak to them about it, mention you are a detailer. Walk them to your 9 year old, 170K car that is not a garage queen. Show them how amazing your paint, trim, interior and wheels look. Explain to them the process and how you can get them there. Try to book on the spot, offer to show a 50/50 test spot by stopping by your shop.
There that first tip is on me, good luck.
I’ve always found that the ones that do the most work on their own cars are the ones least likely to engage in the services of a detailer.
The ones that do spend money are those whose cars are a symbol of status or the rare ones that care for their most depreciating asset.

Now mind you, this was a crappy job. A lot of crumbs missed during the vacuum, a lot of dust and spills and overspray left on dash and console. Tire shine all over rims and then sling galore on rest of the car.
Reason I got these done? Pool vehicles used by all, no respect shown by most. I never spilled and dont drink soda so wouldn't matter. I hated driving them when disgusting.
Everyone always tried to get the car I was driving, because they knew I kept it clean!
Would I ever do that to my own car? NEVER! I've gone 2 months with no wash, because I couldn't wash it or find a touchless wash. Most people are wowed by crappy car washes, because they are used to a certain standard and don't hold thier vehicles to one.
they are doing everything by hand, NO MACHINE. seems like maybe no more than a two man operation with two locations
