Second guessing my business prices. What do you think?
I think I might be second guessing my prices. What do you all think?
Hart's Auto Detailing - Prices
now, there isn't anyone in the area that offers mobile detailing, so I don't have a lot to compare it too.

i would up the prices a bit. you want to spend over an hour cleaning a car for 30 bucks including your personal costs like vehicle expenses , product expenses etc, etc

They do seem low for the amount of time you would have to spend.
Plus you have to get to the job and to the next job.
You have to look at the amount of money you will be able to collect in 8 hours or 5 days.
That will give you a better idea of how much you will be earning in a hour

I think that you need to guage your prices on two items :
1. What are others charging in YOUR area
2. What will YOUR market bare/support
you see South Florida is likely very different than others areas. We have detailers on every corner and each are cut throat to get business.

That's the thing, there isn't other "detailers" around the Dayton area to compare to. There's quite a few car washes, but they are all the automatic and DIY kinda washes. Only two that I know of in the area that offer some kind of "detailing" is car washes w/ a seperate bay.
Right before I posted this, I had my wash/vacs at 35,40, and 45, but then lowered them to 30, 35,40. Also lowered my interior prices by $5 and my "middle of the road" price by $10.
I can do a full wash/vac in exactly one hour. My supplies for this package are mostly Megs Detailer line and diluted products, so expense isn't real real high here.
The other MAIN reason, I lowered my prices to what they are now, is I HAVE to use the customer's water/electricity. I've stressed this many times on my website, but feel I can't charge anymore than what I have listed because of this "inconvenience" to them. Although just about all potential clients I've talked to never expected me to supply my own water.
