That looks like plastic tools that you use alot in a body shop setting to safely pry/pop door panels off. So he might mean the plastic clips that hold the door panels on

They look the same as Phillips, but they're not. JIS fit both Phillips and JIS screws, but Phillips don't fit JIS properly, making it easy to strip them. I always wondered why my screwdrivers didn't quite fit the FJ, I just thought they were worn out. Now I don't know if this applies to all Japanese cars, and bikes, or just the ones manufactured in Japan, but you can tell by the little dot in the bottom of the JIS screws.

My first new car was a 1976 Toyota FJ40 Landcruiser and I have almost exclusively owned and wrenched on Toyota products since then and I NEVER knew about this

It does however explain some screwdrivers that I have been dissatisfied with over the years

I gotta look into this soon

It’s funny you say that, as just yesterday I was watching some videos on how to take apart my rear door panel in order to fix the window regulator. That might work in a pinch, but there’s specialized tools that help remove all the clips without breaking them. It also seems to require you to be as precise as James Bond, but it’s possible. Lol.

I have bags of multiple clips in different size and shape, They are OEM not genuine as they the car manufacturers want $5 a clip.

So i found a guy in Australia that sells good quality one's NOT the cheap Chinese type that can break by just looking at them.

Better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it

Not the standard unpacking post I know, but when I saw this I had to have it. In fact the real thing could be something I'd consider replacing the FJ with. Off-road ability with more fun on the road.

-Another spot is inside of the seat belt latch. Those can be grimey and hard to get to sometimes.

another tool to have that's inexpensive that comes in handy is a skin wedge (around $15). every guy should have one of these in his tool box. use it to take things apart (auto interior panels, polishers, etc.) and not damage it like you would using a screwdriver. i bought a few of these to hand out to friends because it will come in handy at some point or time. worth every penny...

    i am the jump starter.
