Worst Thanks GIVING EVER!
Been raining for 3 days straight in Cincinnati. Started my Rx7 tonight because I stayed at my fiances for the past 2 days. Engine was knocking and sporadically dying. Then started reeving high, electrical systems were dimming, and it started knocking whenever I went past 3k rpms.
4 options, all bad: Bad distributer caps, water affecting caps or wiring, transmission going out on my manual, or... my engines apex seal is losing compression and engines going to explode in a few miles. I hate my life, if my seals go... $3000 for a new engine, or $2000 to have new seals put in if my housing does eat my seal when it cracks. FUDGE this sucks
I'm the guy on the left and my cars the one on the right for that bash smiley. *sigh, I knew there was a reason I dislike holidays.

Well, that blows, but for some reason, I don't think that the problem would be the seals, I would bet on something electrical, and like you said, most likely just something due to all the rain... Also, how is your air filter?

I replace air filter around every 5k miles since it's stock and not an open CAI. Been raining 3 days straight, knowing my luck work will get flooded and I'll be fired to save for the expense of paying for water damage :P
No, but on a more serious note, I'm pretty sure it's water and electrical. Kind of on a tight budget here and moving into a place at the end of December, so this sucks. Trying not to blow money on more stuff. Oh well, hopefully it's nothing major.

If it was the apex seals, there would be smoke coming out of the exhaust. I've been told, that with these engines, they put out a lot of power right up until they expire.

Re: Worst Thanks GIVING EVER!
I tend to agree with "Fly bye". Usually apex seals will be a sudden problem, as most rotaries tend to run well until that point. (Apex seals become more of an issue if the engine is modified). This sounds like water getting into the distributor cap.
