Its sorta outgunned in its stock class right now. It may get reclassified next year. Right now its in the same class as Focus RS and WRX STi. Im down 75hp and two more wheels doing the business. I was within 1.5 sec of both of them at my first autox and they were both on RE71R tires and I was on the stock Pirellis.

Interesting. Looking at the 2019 rule book for SCCA Solo I see they did put the Veloster N in D Street. Before looking it up, I would have thought you were accidentally placed in the wrong class. D Street is a really strange collection of vehicles. Not sure why they didn't put the car in G Street with other performance based FWD cars. Granted, it has a bit more power than most of them, but not that much more. Tuning might not do you any favors either since you could end up competing against some real monsters.
I'm kind of in the same boat. My 435i is classed against E90 M3/M4's and all manner of hot Mustangs and Camaros. No way I'm going to beat an ///M vehicle. It's a good thing I'm not that great of a driver and don't get too hung up on my standings.

With a bigger rear bar and some RE71s I think I can beat the RS and STi.

Love the brakes, wheels, and front splitter. They can keep the rest, especially that god awful wing.

The GV80 looks great, as does the new G80, the rims alone[emoji876]

Re: Can you Believe this is a Hyundai
I'll be curious to see how they distinguish between the Palisade and the GV80. The Palisade is already loaded up with every luxury item imaginable. All that is left is maybe some additional tech or a bigger engine, but I think the Palisade already uses the twin turbo v6, so there may not be any room to move on that one.
I was actually surprised when the Palisade hit the market. It's been no secret Hyundai has been working on a large SUV for Genisis and the Palisade looks like what should be wearing the Genesis badge while the Telluride should be wearing a Hyundia badge. Not sure what Kia could have done since they don't want to be left out of the large SUV game. At this point I just fear these vehicles will be fighting each other for sales like GM has done for years with their own short sighted badge sharing.
