Griot's Garage Products on ShopNBC?
Flipping though the channels on a wet & cool Friday night, I see Griot products being "pimped" on Shop NBC. Evidently they're going to detail a car and sell products. Hmmm, wonder how it will work.

I just watched it. Some parts did not sit right with me though. Not sure why he waxed the car, then clayed it afterwards. The interior looked all blotchy and streaky after the leather spray. Then claiming the One Step Sealant will last a year.
There were a lot of things that were done incorrectly and most of it was just poor technique IMO. I am not bashing Griots at all since they do make some great products just the way the products were used made me wonder.
Too bad he didnt pull the car out into the sun or put the lights on it. I gurantee he swirled the paint up when he was rubbing the wax off to death.

Saw the same guy on Black Friday. He had a dark blue BMW with "dirt" on it. He used their waterless wash to clean it. The word "dirt" is in quotes because the "dirt" looked like he shook the dryer lint trap over the car. He then waxed it with spray wax. A short time later he used the DA on a junkyard trunk. Don't know why he didn't use it on that BMW... oh well I liked the DA enough that I bought one from AG.
As for poor techniques, I cringed watching him. Noobs everywhere will think if the GG company guy does it, it must be right.
I dig Shop NBC, bought a few watches from Jim Skelton over the years.

While I did not see the video, I did see Stoners Invisible Shine being sold on QVC. Doesnt mean its bad, infact just the opposite for this product specifically, and likely used by the shows helpers sometimes in wrong ways or context.
I suspect Griots is similar ... some good products being sold/used by people that dont typically detail for tv audiences.

Still, how do you work for Griots and not know how to use your own products correctly?

My experience with one step sealant is that it DOES seem to last about a year. It looks nice and has more slickness than without any sealant until then. Have you ever used it yourself? If so, how long did it seem to last for you?
