Re: Mike Phillips and Yancy part of 3D Car Care
I felt compelled to repost these pics. I detail this car, one of my best friend Hectour's 1979 Rx-7, every other year. What I mean by "detail it" is wash, decon, paint correction and LSP. This spring the car didn't look too bad so I suggested to Hectour that we use an AIO. Now I've had 3D Speed sitting on the shelf for years and just hadn't had a reason to try it, just don't get to do too many people's cars, so I thought this a perfect time.
After the carwash and decon it was time for polishing. I had brand new Euro-fiber pads and the less aggressive one was used due to the already great appearance of the car...or so I thought it was great. Now Hectour isn't as picky as I am as he's just now getting into detailing more and he too thought the 7 looked good. I primed the pad and started off doing half the hood. I did a 4 section pass @4.5 speed setting (pardon the pun) and not alot of pressure. While working it in it looked good but when I wiped it off I got REAL excited, I actually ran to get Hectour and said "LOOK AT THIS". He's opposite of me, meaning he's less excitable but he was WOW'd! I moved around the car and finished up, using a WW to wipedown and even things out. The outside pics tell the story, this stuff blew me away and I'm looking forward to my next use of 3D Speed

Some of the youtube people i have watched have mentioned how sun friendly 3D Speed is. I wish it was ceramic based though, i'm going to put cancoat on the 2 cars i detail next year i think.
I wonder if 3D has some newer compounds/polishes ready to go? Especially for people working outside. Maybe not they seem to focus on a simple lineup. A medium cut primer polish would be great though.

Looks great though!
I was in a older RX7 one time - maybe early 90's generation, i probably couldn't fit in it now lol, very quick car.

Why do you think CanCoat wouldn't work with 3D Speed?

Re: Mike Phillips and Yancy part of 3D Car Care
You should be using a prep wipe anyway so what does it matter if it is CanCoat or a ceramic or a sealant. Not sure I see the correlation there.

Re: Mike Phillips and Yancy part of 3D Car Care
I honestly thought it would interfere with cancoat..hmmm
I just assumed an AIO is not the best idea for a coating.
