My Next Great Adventure
As the title suggests I'm getting ready for my next next great adventure. Unfortunately it's not going to be a cross-country motorcycle trip or anything similarly fun.
It started about ten days ago while working in my woodshop. I was sanding on a shelf unit I was building for my daughter when I felt a burning sensation in my groin area. Over the next few days the burning sensation became more and more prominent during any physical activity and then over the past few days that irritating burn started to become more like actual pain.
Fortunately, the pain is manageable during periods of rest, but returns as soon as I do any kind of physical activity.
Yesterday before the Super Bowl I was out in my garage playing with my new Griot's G8 and GR3 polishers on one of my motorcycles. I only got about half way done with the bike before the pain became to great to continue. I stopped and watched the Super Bowl. After the Super Bowl I went back to the garage and the bike for about an hour. That is literally all I could take.
This morning I saw my doctor and she confirmed what I had suspected. I am the lucky winner of whatever it is behind Door #3 . What might that be? Let's see. Ready? Here you go... It's a HERNIA.
So, my next great adventure will be to a surgical table sometime in the near future.
Woo Hoo! Cant wait!!!
I have a preliminary appointment with the surgeon tomorrow and will probably know the schedule for this adventure's embarkment after that meeting.

Oh man.
Good news is, hernia surgery is a near 100% success rate operation. I know a bunch of guys that have had the procedure, and they have all recovered just fine.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

Yeah, I'm not worried about it.
It's the few weeks of limiting my activity that's got my attention more than anything else. Sitting around doing nothing, especially when it's not by choice, can make me crazy.

I get it. I was out with a severe back injury for 7 months back in 2017.
Forced me to into finding a new job after 21 1/2 years.

Wishing you a speedy recovery and luckily you believe in doctors and saw one asap. As a side note, all your toys will need your attention so a little rest now will leave you with plenty of energy to play later.

Re: My Next Great Adventure
Had a double hernia surgery few years back....
No biggie really.
Drugs were great. Recall as to pain, really wasn't much.
Big thing was sleeping. For 3 days I slept in the recliner. Just not to pull anything.
Get good fun reading books! That kept me from going crazy!
By around 4 or 5th day, should be moving around a lot more.
Keep us in loop!

Good news and will do.
This one is on the right side. I previously had one on the left side but that was when I was a kid and don't really remember anything about it, other than the scar as a reminder.
