    Re: 2014 Corvette PlatstiDip Project

Today I removed the front splitter and cleaned up moreclear bra glue residue with an eraser wheel

Also my order from dipyourcar.com arrived
2 Gallons of Avalanche Gray for the base coats
3 Gallons of Extra Lime for the color coats

New product called hyper dip for the wheels (glossier, more chemical resistant one step dip product)

    Re: 2014 Corvette PlatstiDip Project

Finished up some adhesive removal with the eraser wheel
Peeled the bronze plastidip off of the wheel faces
Pressure washed all the old plastidip overspray out of the wheel barrels
    Washed the wheels
    Dried the wheels
Wiped them down with a paint thinner afterwards

I am doing gloss black hyper dip for the wheels to match the black grill, splitter, hood vent, rear lower section etc.

How do you get the overspray off the tires?

Good luck and enjoy your project!

    Re: 2014 Corvette PlatstiDip Project

You apply dip release on the tires first (or tire shine)

Spray the tire too to build up a thick enough coating to peel easily.
Then just peel it off in one piece at the end of the process

You can also tape off the entire tire
This way is a bit easier though I think

You and Scott have waayy more experience doing this than I do, and I have not painted my wheels yet, but wondering if it would be easier if they were horizontal (like in the 2nd pic), and maybe on a 'lazy susan' to turn them vs. spraying them while they are standing up?
