    Little project...

Got tired of looking at the white underbelly of our Sunpass/toll transponder. Taped up the numbers we need to reload it, took off the suction cups and painted these suckers flat black!
They blend in a lot better now and do not stick out like a sore thumb anymore!

    Cool idea, Scott. Nicely done.

Nice. In PA they warn you that you cannot modify their transponder in any way. I have mine mounted behind the frit and it’s less visible but it’s still white. A colleague of mine at work painted his flat black like you and said if they ever ask for it back he’ll “lose” it so they charge for a replacement but won’t give him trouble for modifying it.

Why couldn’t they make this crap black to begin with?

Yeah, same system as NJ and NY though they each manage their own stuff. Can’t transfer between states either, must enroll again and return the old. I can’t wait for all cars to have a transponder built in from factory and you just “pair” with the company you’ll use for tolls, something invisible. Or better yet, just do tolls 100% based off license plates like PA is doing now. You don’t even need to use the transponder if you’re only in PA, they know your plate and just charge your account.
