in fairness, his family is the source of the initial report and factor that he died of covid. it still remains that the vaccines are a matter of personal health, not public health. individuals in the US have personal freedoms and choices and with such a new situation, these fixes should not be mandated or forced on anyone. I have mine, but I don't need to worry about anyone here having taken the jab or not. I lead with trust that when the time is right for them they will make the right choice and I won't disparage them regardless of their decision to or not to take it. That's their choice. Mine works just fine without theirs and the variants are going to occur in nature regardless of the percentage vaccinated as it lives and mutates in animals too of which we are surrounded by.
Both sides of the media have agenda's as do our leaders in DC. In the presence of those biases and in the vacuum of transparency and truth extremists on both sides will form. Nothing new nor shocking. At some point, people will begin to realize their neighbors will make the right decisions in the presence of truth, trust, and transparency. We have none of those factors right now and our so-called leaders are ignoring that as the REAL problem we face. I have little to no faith nor proof any of that will change unless there's either a complete reset in gov't.
Until then I have little to no concern over factors I have no control over. I take care of myself and my family and keep them safe and secure and expect the same of others. They need not worry about me as I've neither asked them to nor given them permission to worry about my situation(s). Life is good.

Disagree. Plague, Spanish Flu, SARS, MERS, Covid; can all move between people. If it was mosquitos or dogs or bats or birds carrying then that would be personal health. But since people infect other people, it’s called PUBLIC health. No ifs and or buts and that’s why we are in trouble as a society.

Re: What's everyone's thoughts on the Covid-19 situation?
mRNA technology is not going away anytime soon, in fact it will be expanded beyond what it is currently designed to do. I am personally not in favor of mandatory vaccinations, however, I think it is very important people get the shot. It keeps people from getting severely sick.
The technology they are working on now will allow future vaccines to be effective against 90% of all variants. This is what gives me hope for the future - science.
We're fortunate to be alive in this golden age of medicine. It's a real kick in the teeth to those in 3rd world countries that would die to get this vaccine.
Rather than pander to their base and spew nonsense like Tucker Swanson does, let people decide based on the evidence given by the medical establishment. Stop smearing it with your conservative anti-science garbage. Quite a few prominent conservative talk show hosts have died from it because they were too naďve and stupid to take it seriously. You reap what you sow.
I'm ok with simply stating that the technology is new and you'd rather wait, then cherry pick articles and kook doctors to make your case.

Re: What's everyone's thoughts on the Covid-19 situation?
I also want to be very clear with what your actions MEAN. REALLY MEAN. And this is coming from a United States Army veteran of 8 years with a father who served for 25.
To say our personal choices matter more than for others health or life. Realize these decisions COULD lead to the death of someone else in society that wasn’t as protected, healthy, or lucky. I’ve heard “well, most of the dead aren’t as strong or had complications.” Really, so now we don’t care about those older or weaker in society. Screw grandma and grandpa, they lived a good life but just as well as we get rid of them before we throw them away. At least Social Security benefits will last longer. Make no mistake that is the result of some of these personal decisions.
And remember how big a deal we made of 9/11 when almost 3,000 people died and we were absolutely right to make a big deal of that attack and loss of life. But we’ve lost over 700,000 to this pandemic and don’t give a ####. SMH.

You know when you're talking to an older person and they just look at you and nood their head? That's their way of saying yes it was me who f***** you years ago today with my emotional decisons. Be cautious with how you move and think end game when you do.

You’re not wrong, especially if they knew better as opposed to being ignorant. But revenge? We’re supposed to leave the world in a better place than it was when we came along. If we don’t TRY to leave it in a better place then we’re dead weight. Many are currently taking us backwards…in regards to society, in regards to science.
Those of us fighting for science and fighting for a better society are not fighting to take away rights and freedoms, we’re trying to balance those rights and freedoms between individuals and society. We’re not fighting for facial recognition or blanketing the cities with cameras. Those are completely separate fights, fights worth having. We’re actually fighting for the rights we grew up with when you couldn’t go to school without having your vaccinations. We’re fighting to still have a vaccine card that we absolutely did used to have to prove to the schools we had our vaccines. It’s not like we’re fighting for something brand new here. And it’s not like a lot of kids died because of all the vaccines we’ve been pushing. The child mortality rate continues to go down over the decades.

And since my chart only covered to 5 years, I had to find something for other children.
Infant, Child, and Teen Mortality - Child Trends
Looks like death rates for children continues to go down until kids are teenagers so why do more teens die? Many causes but as can be expected, motor vehicle deaths are the top killer of teens.

Valid point with the vax card as most people today have forgotten or didn't even know we've had one. However, I've never needed one to eat indoors or attend an event. The overreach is extreme and like every inch taken it will become a mile.

Some would say 700,000 deaths due to a pandemic is more than extreme.
The fact that we’re not doing everything in our power to fight this to the best of our ability is asinine, criminal, stupid, and selfish.

Moral of the thought is...some choose to let go of some of the most basic rights of being a US citizen and ultimately a human being, all in the name of public health.
And yet they fail to realize that the wool is being pulled over there eyes for a hidden agenda. Soon it will be not just some of the rights they so freely chose to relinquish but all that will be taken away.
Folks dont ever loose sight of why ppl from all around the world have tried everyday for countless years to flee their country for the US.
Maybe its taken for granted?
And just to add i do not care what side of the political party you are on, because to be frank its politics that keeps the US as a whole divided.
Oh yeah, they’re going to take our guns too. And they’re going to take our jobs. Yeah, let’s use rhetoric when we don’t have solid enough ground with our current arguments. Classic conspiracy propaganda right there. We have enough problems directly in front of us without manufacturing ones that might happen.
At least we can agree on that last one. Both parties suck.
